My experience has been nothing short of any marketer's dream.
My project was to draw up launch plan (indicative ) for Emami's foray into OTC segment like foot care and ant-fungal solutions , ala krack and itchguard.
i went through the entire launch planning cycle including basic research , consumer/retailer/distributor research , ORG data analysis , need gap analysis , brand chart , R&D feasibility and what not
Finally we are going to launch in November 2008 , and hopefull few of my reccomendations would be given a serious thought

Hello,
I did my internship in lifestyle stores international.
Now, my experiences has been really good. My learning has been quite good which is the real motive behind the internship program.
Now, in retail, whatever we talk, the destination is only one. Which ever route u take, it is ok, but u gotta reach the destination and that too successfully. And no prizes for guessing, its the CONSUMERS. WHat i found out what being a consumer is very very easy. They are pampered with best of the products. So it was really a revelation to see what it takes for being a successful store.
Also, I worked as a consumer service rep for 2 weeks and i had an oppurtunity to interact with loads of consumers. So that was kind of enriching my knowledge and restated many of the myths that I had. Also most importantly, the thought that the consumer doesnt have much knowledge would prove fatal for the organization. Thus this is the aspect we have to keep in mind and shoo away with what ever loop holes you find in your product.
Also I had given a promotional plan which gave me a chance to prove my mettle in this aspect too!
Also it was a great experince working wit the marketing team evaluating their loyalty program. Thus it was a exhilirating experince, but just that it is too long. Just as the saying goes, anything should be a like a mini skirt. "Short enough to arouse interest and long enough to cover the subject". A little masala to end it, eh?

Hey,
I did my summer intern at Sony Entertainment, and regarding my experience, it was a memorable one.
I had taken up two project:-
1.Marketing
2.Sales
My marketing project required me to do research work on some technical stuff like Television Audience Measurement, which basically help the media industry to know the quantity of audience watching a particular channel. Its on the basis of this data that the ratings and all are analyzed. Research on Conditional Access System was also done and the market survey for SONY SAB. the basic purpose was to know what space do the audiences and the ad agencies put the channel in.
The sales project was one i liked the most wherein i had to sell the channel, as in sell time slots to various clients for their ads to be aired on the channel.
So on and on doing the projects was fun!!!
Regards,
Arun

I did my summer project at Lintas IMAG and was associated with the Public Relations division of the same......
Well, as everybody else, the first day I went to office, I had lots of expectations, ideas and apprehensions, as to how these 3.5 months will be for me.....as well as for LINOpinion .... Although I cribbed a lot during the internship (now that is one habit of mine!) , in the end it was a good exposure to the corporate environment. Let me share my experience at LinO with all of you........
The project I worked on was about the evolution of electronic media in India, how PR has helped in its advent, and how PR agencies can use the new media tools to make strategies for their clients. Besides this, I was associated with the daily working of the agency as well. There wasn’t much I knew about PR before joining Lino, but working there made me understand how a PR agency works. Since, PR is a below the line activity, the agency promotes their clients primarily through press releases and organizing events. While I was there, I helped them in follow ups, dissemination of press releases, in organizing events, carrying out consumer dipstick for the clients, updating their media contacts and making monthly press dockets as well as industry synopsis for their clients. All in all, in the 3.5 months I understood completely how a PR agency functions and was actually working as a full time employee there!!
All this was simultaneous to the research for my project, which required me to meet and interview the media professionals regarding their views about the changing electronic media sphere in the country and the role of PR. Through the research I understood the importance of electronic media for PR and also gave suggestions to the agency to make use of the new media that is becoming popular in the country.
A very very long post !!.... Well, after the first hectic day at work, I never thought that I would say this , but I enjoyed working there.... And now sitting at home has become too too boring after the looong training....
