hi .....this is nitin frm ibs jaipur...batch of 2009....i m interested in marketing research as my long term career goal....even planning to establish my own venture 5-6 yrs down the line....if anyone interested in sharing some thoughts???????/

Most good work in mkt research happens in quantitative area. So if uve got an aptitude for the numbers then u can jump on to it. However, u cannot really grow with just MR. Instead look at an full blown agency and grow with it.

but i had just thought of my own research firm specially for customer relationship management...how abt the business of selling databases...its really hot...n u can earn huge bucks with less initial capital...
hey one more thing...can u find some business plan for a marketing research firm..

Dear nitin I feel thet for a marketing research career a decent knowledge of SAS will give u an edge....its an excellent software and very few ppl know it....u can also go for a certification if u feel

it is gr8 that u are opting as a market Research as career, but one point i would like to tell u is u should have sound knowldge of SPSS becoz all the analysing part is doen through it
