Hey, I just happened to see my result for 1 yr course and find my interview date 11 Feb. Got no mail till now, though. Read all your replies, Prashant. Very informative. I too am from BPO background and want to move into finance or investment banking. I've some questions and would appreciate if you can help.
* I got 40% in Grad but above 50% in PGDCA. I mentioned same in my IBSAT form. Will they consider it now that they declared my interview date.
* Fee is very high for this one yr course. It's 1 lakh higher than IIM Calcutta's similar program. Do they guarantee placement as well.
* If they do then does the organizations offer jr level to PG students or as per experience.
* I calculated 6 weeks for 3 courses, average out to 2 week/course. Could have been easy if they taught only one subject at a time. Man it must be hectic with all studies. I've not touched a book in past few years. Are these exams conducted evry six weeks or end of year. And are they easy to clear?
I can wait and attempt GMAT for IIM C program which's cheaper and has more value if there are doubts on placements. I read 14 got placed out of 37 its less than 40%. But you adviced to wait till Feb. Will all get placed before final exams?

Sorry 4 the delayed response...exams were ging on
1) no idea about percentage query
2)No guarantee for placements...15 out 37 got placed till now with avg. package of 8 lacs
3)As per the relevant exp....no fresher jobs(but yes in case u switch your industry they compensate with a relative better package...but give fresher rank)
4)Till now all got lateral positions
5)every six weeks 3 exams
6)ya , plz wait till Feb.
Regards,
Prashant

I happened to visit career counselling offered by IBS professors in Delhi. They didn't had much information for the PG course and placement queries. One professor told me that with your kind of experience you'll be picked up by any company in package range of 15 lakh plus once your complete this course. I told him you haven't placed anybody with that package per my understanding in IBS. He admitted that this being first batch, students will be the best group to talk about placement offers.
I think the best decision can only be made once I reach Hyd before interview date and get a chance to meet you guys face to face.

Hi ,
I am intrested to join 1 yr exe-MBA. I have 3 yrs of exp in media industry, and currently working for Zee News as an assistant producer in the promo department which is a creative department. Do you guys advice to join this program? My current package is around 2.5 lakh. My job profile includes promotion of the new channel existing and upcoming program as well as innovations, vignettes and commercial for corporate clients like Mcdowel, HDFC Bank, FMCG Companies, Educational Institutes etc...
Now I want to enhance my career in the media management. What profile i can expect after doing this course? Do media companies come for placements? Is it worth to spend 9 lakh for this program ?? Kindly advice me as it is going to decide my future....Thanks.

Amit Kumar
