thank you for your prompt reply prashant.
what i am trying to find out about ibs is what specific courses o groups i can belong to while there.
for example, at isb, there is a healthcare club where i can contribute and also gain from it. so that was my answer at isb interview.
i mean i am trying to gain insight into the question of 'why ibs?'
please do not misunderstand me, i am simply trying to find a 'best fit' for myself and for the college. The interviewers are not going to take kindly on this issue if i am not able to show them that i have done the required research.
Mohit

Thanks Prashant...read your earlier posts as well and will wait for your post when the entire batch gets placed.....Hope the structure and process improves there for this program...
I am a B.Tech from UP Technical University (first batch - Year 2000) so i can understand that there is little fight for the first couple of batches after that the processes become more mature .......
Anyways, congrats to you !!
Will wait for reply in Feb.

But you guys would be the best source of information about the placements.....
I am in TCS for more than 3 years and wanted to know about the career opportunities after doing 1 year PG program from ICFAI,Hyd. Please suggest whether it would be a worth decision to spend 10 lac rs or i should stick with my current job. I am interested in doing an MBA but not sure about the placements for this course. |
I too wanted to know more about this course. I've 9+ yrs of experience in BPO segment and currently working as an operations manager with IBM. My current package is comparable to the fee of this course. I've cleared IBSAT and want to speak with few students from Exec. MBA Program about placements before coming for interview in Feb. Guys please assist me by providing your contact email or telephone # or answer below:
1. Would other companies be interested in hiring me after completing this course in FMCG, Retail, Marketing, Finance sectors as I don't have experience in such fields.
2. What is the course structure and exam pattern. Do they have term end exams for each subject.

The highest package uptil now had been 11 lacs with at least 2 to 2.5 lacs bonus(the bonus component has not been specified but as per profile it would be that much) so that makes it to 13-13.5 lacs.
Good companies do come here but it's a chance of whether they are interested in the kind of experience you have.
Definitely ur's is a solid experience but as only 14 of us have got placed of 37 (though the process has not officially started for us)i can't commment on the surity part. Well we do have guys who have 12,11 etc years of experience. Situation would be more clear by Feb. Please also go throgh my earlier posts.
Course structure is like ISB and yes we have end term exams. We have 8 terms of 3 subjects lasting for 6 weeks each.

Prashant Chauhan

Hi Prashant,
Thanks for taking time out to answer my queries. You got me asking for more now
I would like to know :
1. How many hours in a day you attend classes. Is it 5 days/week or 6days/week.
2. How are the students assessed. What % of marks for discussions, case studies or assignments vs term end exams.
3. Do banks provide loan for this course as well and what documents are asked for by banks for education loans.
4. How's a regular day in campus?
I might have few more questions. Will keep them posted.
Thanks,
Pradeep

1. 4.5- 6 hours...4 out 6weeks may be 6 days 2 weeks might be 5 days a week. Huge Variations are there.
2. Presentation/Projects/Class Participation/Case Studies--> They vary for courses...no fixed formula
3. Yes they do provide...Many documents-- don't remember
4. It's too too too hectic. The regular day with studies in full flow would be 8:20a.m getting up and sleeping at 2 a.m--> 2 hours for relaxation
Not scaring ...beleive me it's too tough...need to be mentally strong and work in groups and teams. People having their own(spouse and kids) family need to be more strong. It starts getting onto you after 2 months or so.
Regards,
Prashant
