Hi All,
First, All the very best to the present batch with their placements.
This community here is one great effort, wish the best and thanks to the people who have initiated and now maintaining it. Also to all those people who are active on this forum and chiping in with their constructive posts. This is one great way to remain connected to our Alma Mater and to the people who are part of this one big society and are there for one another as member of the team. Would love to see it achieve great success in terms of memberships and online visibility. Let's contribute in whatever way we can or just by being there for each other.
I'm Business Analyst(Insurance) with 3i Infotech and currently I'm doing an implementation in Kuwait.
Look forward to lots and lots of activity on this forum. Lets ROCK...

Arre Maam , i tried a lot and still tryng
but prob hai ki IBS alumni are not connected to Brand IBS as such.....so not many have come forward. Believe me we have emailed thouands of alumni's to participate.
I think we unable to connect with the consumer behav of alumni's....give us some ideas. wht could attract them to come n participate here !

Some insight into the consumer's behaviour will help here (I topped IBS, across branches in Mktg during the first sem )
The issue is with the mindset. It roots from the time we are inducted into IBS. For any one to be proud of their brand, the media plays a big role. ICFAI doesnt have that exclusivity that an IIM/FMS/XLRI/MDI have. You can spot an ICFAI center in any city. ICFAI dilutes its brand through multiple courses, both full time, part time & correspondence. One doesnt get that 'privileged' feeling with it. Most of us took up this course as we didnt have any better option. Media feedback doesnt help anyways.
It's hard to make the consumer stand by the brand. If the alumni dont see it as a value add/ ego enhancing/ morale boosting experience, its difficult to bring them together.
For instance, the recent Alumni meet at Delhi. What was that fuss all about?? I felt so letdown with the way the whole affair was handled. Nobody knew who else besides their batchmates was there, there was no networking, no introductions, no highlighting of alumni achievements, no exchanging of business cards, no nothing. If food & dance was all that was there...we can manage better parties, thank you.
The point is...as much I, as an alumni, try to promote my School in various forums, its not backed equally by my Institute. We need to build some trust & bonding here. For all the good things that the School has done for our careers...we ought to find a way to break through and give it all back.
Till then, Abhishek, you are fighting against the tide, buddy.

Hi Abhishek,
Kudos for the great job you all have done by creating this platform. After I saw Zarines post, couldnt stop my compulsive drive to add a few more drops of plausible gyan.
You need not answer, but think through these questions and realign your strategic objective.
- Why would an Alumni use ibsrock over an established platform like IBSAF?
Followup thought: (Does Ibsrocks need to explore, proactive enagement with Alumnis (Example: An Alumni Interview/Featured Profile Story)?)
- Why should one reinvent the wheel?
Followup thought: (Does IBsrock need to explore possible synergies with IBSAF or for that matter any Almuni events conducted by them!)
As Peter Drucker said, good leaders ask and think about the right questions, answers would follow through!
Just Ponder Over! You guys are doing a great job. Am sure its gonna benefit the entire IBS community. Please feel free to get in touch with me for any support. Am myself a prolific networker and well connected with loads of Alumni.
About me: Am involved in Solution Management Consulting with SAP, Gurgaon.
Keep in touch, Cheers
