hello sir,

I got one project in Marketing mgmt (Prof.Gautam kaul's class).

Topic:- Launch a paper napkin

deadline:-20th july


so how can we start our project ?

What we will do first andd how to make overall strategy for this project?

and moreover we have to take visit of 50 stores and take feed back from vendors.

i hope u give me outline about project as early as possible.

Hi Sanket,

Welcome to practical world of marketing ! New product launches is one of the most exciting role a marketer can get to play. i did my internship @ Emami in a similar project - launch of foot cream , so hope i can give u a practical outline of how to approach the project

As Mr kaul rightly said, u need to undertake a small market research beforeu go about forumlating any launch plan.....

Visit 50 retail stores , and take their feedback as to which brands they stock, why they stock, which are the competing brands, what are the price comparisons , credit terms , wether thy purchase from distributors or wholesalers etc etc...

once such reasearch is done u get a fair idea of the practical market dynamics of paper napikns. you could also speak to few consumers to get more idea abt consumer behavior n need gap exisiting if any

then u start planning on how u are going to launch your brand of napkins. for this u need to draw up a full fledged marketing plan based on STP , 4P's , SWOT and other marketing tools which you can find in Kotler.

Am enclsoing a very well made marketing launch plan for your reference

basically for a launch plan, first undertake research t understand ur market, and then draw a structured plan

if u do it this way , trust me Mr Kaul is gonna be a very very happy man ! most pple just fak such projects, but if u can do this honestly - ull learn a lot

Hi Sanket,

Abhishek has given you a comprehensive idea of how to start. Let me add a little more to it.

Firstly to launch something, it is very important to learn who is your target market.
After selecting your target market, now comes the question of how your are going to position it? This boils down to the fact of STP as pointed out by Abhishek.

Now comes the thought, how do I increase my sales? Create New Users, New uses or More usage. This is the mantra for most marketers. So, launching the marketing plan, it would be better if you throw some light on your sales methodology too.

This is a test for your creativity and I urge you work on this project, 200% honest. It would benefit you immensely.

Hey Sanket,

You have already got a fair view of what needs to be done by you for the project. Make sure you study the present market well before you make any plans as that will help you think of better ways of marketing your product.

You can also include the views of your target customers....what they look for when they buy paper napkins. which can be done by a questionnaire, get it filled from people at 23 sector market Wink ....

Think of an innovative brand name....launch plan...advertisement.....so many things can be done!....just make sure you have ample reasons to justify each activity you undertake, as sir will ask you all that in the viva...

Enjoy sir's project Wink ....I think this will be one project where you will have to work the most....but if you do it sincerely you will remember it always....
