Hello evryone,
Tons of case studies ,assingnments and projects have always been a part of a B-School life...Everyone out here seems to be more interested in scoring a good CGPA but,is it hampering the creativity in you?
Can i hear some rockers on this

well....wat i hav seen and believe is, that it is your smartness which gets your cgpa specially in IBS-G (smart guys would hav understood that). there is nothing wrong in it, it teaches us basic of any busniess administration i.e to gain the bottom line which is considered as CGPA in IBG-G by most of us(exceptions will always be there) . there are a lot of students who are streetsmart but they also show their smartness in getting CGPA.
on the contrary there are a lot many guys who are not so smart , and study day-night only to save themselves from getting a "D" in a subject. thus the thing according to me is that smartness and CGPA have a lot many combinations rather than being extreme opposite qualities.

there is a third kind of student too...who is streetsmart and manages decent CGPA without being obsessed with it or compromising on personal values to attaint it. am sure u get what i meant by that
okie on a serious note two points
1. Good CGPA doesnt not mean intelligence/smartness/creativity and VICE VERSA
2. Smart pple wil anyhow manage decent if not very good CGPA. the whole system of CGPA is non academic based, meaning it has scope for smart pple to work smart and score decently. MBA isnt a test of domain knowldege , most subjects are about common sense !
About creativity again my opinion is :
creativity breeds creativity - its infecious. example - IBS-g...last yr we started Atithi a guest lecture initiative. we also had Mudra and Finnacle (AMC's). People saw, they realised and thy got motivated.
this year - we have five finance club, 3 marketing clubs and SC has finally taken up Guest Lectures work.Apart form that we have a real venture IBSROCKS. we also havebest SIP project contests, and best business plan contests (through ibsrocks )

CGPA is no criteria to tell wht the person is exactly!!!
one things is for sure number never make a man ppl successful today in the market wud nt hve ever entered in the b school bt yet they r successul they hav creativity so accoriding to me CGPA is no criteria to judge to creativity in the person or smartness.....bt ya it is part to show whr u stand in the eyes of others..thr may b cases where in person nt know bt is smart in his own ways same way person scoring CGPA dnt hve smartness so this is no crietria to judge intelligence or creativity ppl scorin gud shud b able to justify it then only they are SMART

The bottom line according to me is this:
1. Smart people no matter what will manage a decent CGPA.
2. Suckin up to any one would not take u too far, not for very long atleast
3. The whole CGPA thing is a dungeon, the sooner you get out of it the better it is.
4. Being an 8 pointer would not guarantee you a job and it sure as hell does not mean that a particular individual is intelligent or can speak.
P.S: What would be a decent a CGPA??? I have a 6.5

hello!
According to me running after CGPA does hamper your creativity, specially at IBSG. there r many reasons y i wrote this.
Studies(content of Books) in MBA to some extent are very necessary but then there are many topics which really make u think.......y am i being punished for studying these words written in Black with ink containing lead n paper containing Lalu's fodder....text which is of no use in life, text which we are going to forget completely after exam, text which is just for sake of marks according to few teachers?????
Why do students have to study topics which bore them or which is deleted permanently after exams from their brain. It simply decreases Energy level.
Instead subjects should be made practical as much as possible, simple copy paste doesnt put any value addition in our work.
Smart students, I think do what their brain says [may be studying more if its useful or less n doing other activities more, if they r useful]
Also going in Teacher's Cabin for purpose other than education, might help in very short term but not in long term.
I'll conclude by writing that smart people do get High(7.5+) CGPA but not all!!
And smart people also get lower (7.5-) CGPA but not all!!
Exception is always there, CGPA cant determine ur intellect level. Right??
